전시는 몸을 있는 그대로 바라보고, 다양한 몸과 살아가고, 기댈 수 있는 서로가 되는 방법을 전한다.
Our bodies are all different. We come to the museum with different bodies. How might we come together in a museum where different bodies gather?
Looking After Each Other is an exhibition that celebrates body diversity and reimagines vulnerability1Vulnerability: Being more open to harm, physically or emotionally. as a form of connection and strength. It unfolds in three parts:
This exhibition is an invitation to see bodies as they are, to live alongside difference, and to look after one another.
어떤 몸은 다른 몸보다 약하다고 여겨진다. 나이 든 몸, 아픈 몸, 장애가 있는 몸을 떠올릴 수도 있다. 하지만 정말로 약하다고 할 수 있을까? 이 공간에서는 다양한 몸을 있는 그대로 이야기한다. 몸이 가진 힘을 보여준다.
Some bodies are perceived as “weaker”—often those that are aging, ill, or disabled. But is weakness truly inherent, or socially defined? This section reclaims bodily difference as a source of strength.
모든 몸은 환영받아야 한다. 이 공간에서는 서로 다른 몸을 가진 사람들이 함께하는 방법을 고민한다. 말과 몸짓, 건물, 도시, 미술관이 어떻게 변할 수 있을지 상상한다. 이런 변화는 어느 한 명이 아닌 모두의 삶을 좋게 바꾼다.
Everybody deserves to feel welcome. This section considers how people with diverse embodiments might inhabit the world together, through transformations in language, gesture, architecture, urban form, and the institutional ethos of the museum. These changes don’t just help a few; they make life better for everyone.
장애인, 노인, 이주민1이주민: 고향을 떠나 다른 곳에서 살아가는 사람. 등 여러 사람이 함께하는 강연, 공연, 모임이 이루어진다. 미술관은 이곳에 모인 사람들에게 누구인지, 몇 살인지, 어디에 사는지 묻지 않는다. 다양한 몸은 사각형 무대에 둘러앉는다. 몸과 몸이 이어지는 감각을 느껴본다.
Lectures, performances, and gatherings bring together a multiplicity of participants—people with disabilities, older adults, migrants,1Migrants: People who leave their home to live in another place. and others. The museum does not inquire into their identities, ages, or places of origin. Around a shared rectangular stage, diverse bodies assemble. Here, one experiences the quiet force of embodied connection.
